The painting entitled with "spiaggia" is from an exhibition arranged by the gallery Leipziger Hof, where in 2006 about 50 Itlalian kind colour paintings by Christian Bussenius and Martin Galle were shown. This colour painting shows a schematic beach scene in friendly colouring.

Christian Bussenius attended the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig and studied painting under Arno Rink and Neo Rauch. Currently his works have more figurative subjects in extraordinary colours, which formally show characteristics of the Socialist realism coupled with a kind of comic heroes, always with the intention to think about society, gender, reality and dreams. The collection of colour paintings is from an earlier era and got its influences from study visits in Italy.

The colour painting is verso entitled with 'Strand' (beach) and shows a schematic seafront with a view over the sea. High-contrasting colours in blue, orange and green and simple and vague shapes build up the scenery, always leaving your imagination enough scope to add the necessary details.
