DESCRIPTION:
Parchment leaf from a Flemish Book of Hours with miniature painting and gold-illuminated initial below, depicting the carrying of Christ on the cross from the Passion story. Christ is forced to carry his cross to Golgotha himself and is supported on his way by Simon of Cyrene. Very fine painting, including the gold-illuminated initial D as the beginning of the word Deus, surrounded by a filigree border in gold and colors, published in Bruges, 1455-60.

- florally designed three-sided border in gold and colors
- 1-line text in red ink: Ad Sextam
- 6-line text in brown ink: Deus in adiutorium meum intende D(omi)ne ad adiuvandum me festina. Gloria.

- 21-line text in brown and red ink and gold-decorated initials in blue and red
