Medieval vellum leaf from an emblazed French book of hours. The calendar leaf shows the month June and is decorated with a filigree miniature painting and gold on both sides. Published in Northern France about 1480.
DESCRIPTION:
Very seldom leaf from a French book of Hours of the year 1480. The leaf shows the calendar month June and contains a 17-line/ 15-line Latin text in red and brown ink. Ornamental border decoration in different colours and gold and two small miniature paintings, on the front side showing a rural figure illustration and on the back side a cancer.

- 2 one-line high initials in gold on red ground
- 1 two-line high initial in gold on blue ground
