Willem Janszoon Blaeu (1571 - 1638) and Joan Blaeu (1598 - 1673), since 1629 Willem Blaeu printed high quality atlases and maps in his publishing house. After his death his son Joan Blaeu continued the publishing work and realized the printing of the well known 'Atlas Maior'.

Original coloured Gold-heightened copper engraving map of the German County of Nassau, Dietz, Herborn and Weilburg in Germany as well as the adjacent areas. Nassau is a city located in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. It is located in the Lahn river valley between the cities of Bad Ems and Limburg at the Lahn. The map is decorated with a nice title cartouche and a detailed coat of arms. from the atlas 'Geographia Blauianae volumen tertium, quo Germania, quae est Europae liber octavus, continetur.', published by Willem and Joan Blaeu, Amsterdam, 1662. In detail are the courses of rivers, cordilleras, certain territories and lakes as well as cities illustrated, the map furthermore decorates cartouches.
