ARTIST:
Norbert Hornig, born in 1935, is a German painter and illustrator, working and living in Leipzig. After banishing from Silesia, Heisig completed his apprenticeship as baker in Leipzig and attended in 1958 the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig, where he studied under Gerhard Kurt Müller and Heinz Wagner. Besides his profession as independent artist he was tutor at the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig and at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle, where he was appointed professor in 1984. For his artistic work he got the award "Gellert-Preis" in 2005, a special art award for artists living and working in Central Germany.
