DESCRIPTION:
Imari porcelain is a hard porcelain originating from Japan and has been produced in the Arita region since the 17th century and is named after the nearby harbor town of Imari. Imari porcelain is typically painted in three colors: Cobalt blue, red and white, with a predominance of floral decoration and highlights of gold.
Enchanting Imari jug on a domed base, made in Japan, Edo period, 17th century. Pear-shaped jug with fluted body and base, decorated with filigree floral and leaf decoration in red and blue and highlights in gold. The curved handle is additionally decorated with red flower painting.
