Imari porcelain is Japanese hard porcelain and is produced since the 17th century in the region of the town Arita. The name for this kind of Japanese porcelain comes from the near port Imari. Typically Imari porcelain is decorated with flower elements, underglazed in cobalt blue and overglazed in red and gold.
