Fine crystal glass vessel with lid by the manufactury Johann Oertel & Co. Transparent crystal glass overlaid with red colour and geometric cut decoration. Manufactured in Haida, Bohemia, about 1910-16.
MANUFACTURY:
1869- Johann Oertel founded his company Joh. Oertel & Co. in Haida, Bohemia, a factory for refining crystal glass.
1887-1889- Patent was registered for colour process on crystal glass.
1945- The Oertel family was exiled from the Czech Republic and the factory was acquired by the state. In 1946 Johannes Oertel founded the company OERTEL in West-Germany.
1948- Johannes Oertel founded a crystal production factory named Cäcilienhütte.
1994- 125. anniversary of the company-foundation.
2001- The Production in Germany was ceased and transferred to the Czech Republic.
DESCRIPTION:
Fine crystal vessel with lid by the manufactury Johann oertel & Co, Haida, Bohemia, manufactured about 1910-16. The transparent crystal glass has been overlaid with red colour, mould blown, and cut geometrically.
