Very interesting and small atlas of the Empire of Japan, printed in Yoshida, Chuken, 1878. This atlas contains 34 doublesided maps, mostly characterized as outline, with beautiful and high-contrasting colouring. The topography of the islands of Japan as well as of the particular prefectures are illustrated in detail and contain information about cardinal points, rivers, cordillers and cities. Inside the map images there are furthermore information in Japanese.
